Alexandre Lacazette has found his feet in London. The 27-year-old has settled into English football and fans with Arsenal tickets have been able to enjoy his performances on the pitch this season under Unai Emery.

It was a mixed start to life at Arsenal after signing from Lyon for a club-record £55 million fee in summer 2017, with the striker's stuttering form persuading Arsene Wenger to break that record in the very next transfer window by signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

If Aubameyang's arrival initially suggested that Lacazette's time in north London would be coming to a premature end, the surprise is that the Gunners' new coach Unai Emery has found a way to get both forwards into his team and working in unity.

Speaking to Ian Wright in an interview for the Premier League's website, Lacazette said: "I love London. I came here to discover something different. It’s a great city, I like how people think here."

The Frenchman can often go about his daily routine without being recognised in London. He said: "Sometimes I have no hat, no glasses and people don’t recognise me," he added. "When I can work, chill and no one knows who I am, this is good."

When Arsenal's frontline has clicked this season, it has done so with real style. The idea of playing with one central striker has made for healthy competition in the Arsenal ranks. Lacazette has been the prefered option leading the attack with Aubameyang utilised out wide.

Gary Neville analysed the predicament Emery has in keeping his attacking talents happy. He told the Premier League: “I think with Lacazette starting Arsenal look more of a goal threat, 100%. They move the ball quicker and score more goals. Defenders don’t like playing against him with his short, sharp movements.

“He’s not as quick as Aubameyang, but if you're a centre back, you know that when that ball comes into the box he’s always going to be there.

“When Aubameyang plays, he drifts out wide anyay. So I actually think it suits Arsenal (style of play) because you need your best players in the team.”
